Port Strikes increase risk in Brazil

It’s important to know that some relevant port workers receives small salaries in Brazil. But where is the plan B for this strikes situation?

There is no plan B. So the goods would stay more time to be clear down here increasing their risk. The risk to be stolen, contaminate, fire and other possibles perils.

Risk Management Politics: when the strip-tease starts

The risk management concept is beautiful, but sometimes could make the strip-tease of an organization. So the company needs to be mature to start this process. Some directors of enterprises want to start loss preve
ntion programs but when they face the reality could make a step back on the process. This could happen in companies that are not ready to this “modern” art of review.

I would say that some managers could face risk management very easy when they are doing their tasks in the right direction, taking care of their business properly. But other managers could build a huge wall in front of this process, mostly because of fear. The fear to the new or the fear to old way of doing their works.

So how is the best way to make the strip-tease of your organization? This is not a simple solution and we can not build a guide for that. But for sure, each company or process could be different, and the step by step process could be a good way to approach it. If a company craft some basics risk management politics, managers could engage on this and will help company delivery this in their process. The risk management process and politics could be a good way to help managers and it´s not a strip tease on their business.
